Z-plasty in post-burn contracture of hand among pediatric patients.

Objective: To find out the frequency of hand burn and effectiveness Z-plasty in post-burn contractures. Study Design: Descriptive Cross-sectional study. Setting: Department Pediatric Surgery, Khawaja Muhammad Safdar Medical College, Sialkot. Period: January to December 2021. Material & Methods: A preformed proforma was used, consisting 4 parts, first part including demographic data like age gender, second consist patient’s history, presenting complaint, its duration, past history any medical or surgical illness comorbidity. Third consisted physical clinical examination (fingers palm) while fourth for post-operative complications reconstructive procedure, Z-plasty. The analyzed by using Statistical Package Social Sciences (SPSS) version-20. Results: most commonly affected group less than 6 years majority them, 53.3%, were male. common cause thermal burns as compared electrical burns. Among 91.1% participants, right more. Majority cases (48.9%) reported single finger burn, followed multiple fingers (31.1%) very few (20%) having palm Segregating figure, results showed that little 20% No complications, skin necrosis, wound dehiscence, hematoma infection, noted. Conclusion: It can be concluded contractures deformity among children. with/without grafting is an ideal management subside contracture hand.
